A BIG Thank You goes out to Pat Degeneffe, owner of Aspen Tree Service located at 820 North Madison Street, Chilton, WI 53014. Pat had helped out in a pinch with his bucket truck and an ailing 2 meter ringo on top of my tower. He is well known around the area for doing excellent work trimming trees. I have personally hired him to remove a large tree and stump and always does a great job. If you are looking for the best in tree trimming service, give Pat a call. Tell him I recommended him. You can reach Pat at (920) 849-8733. You wont be dissapointed! Thanks again Pat!
A little about me: I got my ticket in 2001 and enjoy talking with my Dad (WB9BDZ), and a few of the locals on 2m and 6m SSB and a little FM. I became the president of the Calumet Amateur Radio Club for a few years as well. I've enjoyed working some of the SSB satellites, even had a station setup for AO-40 for a while. Storm spotting helped spark the interest in Ham Radio and I still get excited during weather events. Although my interest in radio has slowed, I still do have a 2m rig in the car, and a Yaesu FT-897D in the shack. I've had a variety of radios and one of my favorites was the Kenwood TS-790A. Great rig! At this point, I have no interest in HF, but that could change somewhere down the road. You never know what will happen.
Most of my time these days are spent restoring, collecting, buying and selling antique phonographs (Victrolas) and Edison cylinder machines. I enjoy doing repairs on phonograph motors and cabinets for myself, and for others. Nothing better than taking and old run-down phonograph, and getting it back to running condition and looking respectable. Meeting new people that are also in the hobby(?) is great as well. There are some very nice people around the world that I have made friends with, and it's always a pleasure talking with them.
